Groneman, Albertus Six Sonatas, Op 1 Two Violins (or Flutes) edited by Gerhard Braun

Product Description

Albertus Groneman, a Baroque composer of German origin who spent most of his life in the Netherlands, is not well-remembered today. In his own day, he worked primarily as a violinist and church organist. He lived from 1711 to 1778, so his compositional period would have roughly coincided with those of composers like C.P.E. Bach and Jean-Marie Leclair; these six duets bear some resemblance to the duo sonatas of the latter. The Six Sonatas, Op. 1, for two flutes or two violins, were composed in 1738 and originally published in 1740. In this publication, the two instrumental parts are presented in score form , so that the players are reading from the same page. There is only one score.  However, the print is clear and bold, and not at all difficult to read. Difficulty: A4/A5 Edited by Gerhard Braun and published by Heinrichshofen.
